  2. I was very impressed with the book selection, What's Your Math Problem. The problem solving examples that are given correlate with the type of rigorous activities we should be providing our students. I am looking forward to exploring the websites provided by Linda Gojak. - Cheryl Hampel, St. Marys

  3. I loved the morning session on "Strategies for Teaching Mathematics". One of the greatest takeaways that I left with from that session was that more than likely our students struggle with math because they don't understand the vocabulary. I've always thought they didn't understand the content, or the numbers when it might actually be that they just don't understand what we are asking them to do.

  5. I enjoyed the presentations given by Linda Gojack and Michelle Mikes. They provided information that I can use in the classroom. The hands on activities and charts were valuable demonstrations of problem solving strategies and activities that will involve student participation and better understanding of various problem solving concepts.

  8. I really enjoyed the presentations. I loved the wealth of knowledge I gathered when we had to create a poster demonstrating how we use cute sayings/songs to help the students remember important information.

  9. I enjoyed both presentations. As teachers, we try many strategies with our students in hopes that they will be successful. Coming to trainings like these validate what we are doing as mathematics educators. I am anxious to present this to the teachers at my school.

  10. I found the hands-on activities very beneficial. When I learned math, the teachers did not use manipulatives and I did not understand the concepts. I did very well in math by learning procedures but I never really understood the processes. I think it is important for upper elementary to still use manipulatives with problem solving. Students need to learn multiple ways to solve problems and connect to real life situations.
